What does it mean?

People often ask me what the word “Zizziba” means, and where it came from…

Zizziba is a word that I made up one day. It just came out of me, without thought behind it. It means “happy”, or rather, is an expression of happiness. One might exclaim “zizziba!” after a particularly exhilirating experience such as riding a river rapid or upon reaching the bottom of a long hill on a bicycle. Perhaps a roller coaster ride would warrant a “zizziba!”, if that’s your kind of thing.

Over time, the word became part of my vocabulary. One day, I was mulling over names for my pottery business when Paul said “Zizziba!”, and I said, “Yes! That’s perfect! Why didn’t I think of that!?” - and that was it. After Googling and searching the dictionaries to make sure it wasn’t being used elsewhere, I trademarked the name and bought the domain and here we are.

So the next time you’re having a great day, exclaim “Zizziba!” to a friend. You’ll both see how fittingly the word describes the way you feel.
