Busy Autumn
I’ve been busy working at Zizziba House (that’s the name for the new property), making lots of pots for the upcoming holiday season, cutting and stacking firewood and all of the other chores that come along with the prettiest time of year.
Z House is coming along nicely. Since the house/office space is the main consumer of energy on the property at the moment, I needed to concentrate my efforts there first. The house got new windows, a cleaned and serviced furnace, and the front office got a fresh coat of paint. It now awaits a new tenant to share the building with the other tenant who is already there.
The outside got a makeover as well. An arborist came in and cleaned up the trees, removed a couple that were poorly located, and overall opened up the property. Paul and I went in after him and spent a day trimming hedges and pulling weeds. The place looks fresh and ready for the rest of its transformation!
Work will start on the studio in the next few months, starting with floor installation and the addition of electric service. I expect that I’ll actually be using the new location next summer.
I’ve also been busy at my home studio! Here are a few pictures of recent work.
I will be selling at the 10th Annual Mountain Campus Holiday Arts & Crafts show this year. It’s a two-day show held at NAU; all proceeds from booth rentals, raffles and the door will go to the United Way.
More on the show in an upcoming post. Happy Fall, everybody!
