The first one is a little out of focus and the busy background competes with your busy piece. This background would be more appropriate for simple, earthy pieces.

Don't worry about a little glare or reflection. You can get a polarizing lens from a camera store - it doesn't have to fit your camera - and hold it between the camera lens and the piece and adjust it until the glare is reduced. It will not disappear entirely.</description>
